Originally, the brief was to create a logo that echoed the South African flag without actually including it. There are 6 different colours on the flag and coming up with a design that didn't resemble a rainbow proved difficult. The inspired result was to remove all the colours except for red and black and to feature the dynamism of the letter Z.
